In 1998, Matrix began servicing the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) by establishing commercial pharmacy networks for use by veterans. This program has been well received by the VA and by veterans. After seeing a veteran at the clinic, the VA CBOC providers write a prescription for the veteran to take to a locally contracted pharmacy for dispensing.
