| The Spina Bifida Health Care Program is a federal health benefit program administered by CHAMPVA for Vietnam veterans’ birth children who have been diagnosed with Spina Bifida (except Spina Bifida occulta), and conceived after the date the veteran first entered the Republic of Vietnam during the period of January 9, 1962 and ending May 7, 1975. This is a "fee for service" program that provides reimbursement for medical services and supplies related to Spina Bifida and conditions associated with Spina Bifida at no cost to the beneficiaries.
NOTE : Health care benefits available under this program are limited to items necessary for the treatment of Spina Bifida and related medical conditions. Beneficiaries should be aware this program does not cover medical services unrelated to Spina Bifida.
